"US Airways Flight 1549 Plane Crash Hudson in New York taken by Janis Krums on an iPhone" by davidwatts1978 on Flickr.
From hard news, like the crash of US Airways 1549 into the Hudson River, to the pure hype of Oprah’s first posting, odds are you’ve been seeing a lot more of social networks like Twitter in the news.
It’s clear that social media, once the niche market of web-savvy college kids with too much time on their hands, is becoming mainstream. People of all types are no longer looking at Twitter and Facebook with idle curiosity; they’re instead deciding to jump in and try it out.
What are we as users to make of this mainstreaming of social media? How can our businesses benefit from these newly and suddenly expanded territories?
Join us at the Hilton Hotel by Poplar and I 240, Wednesday morning, May 6, for the next Social Media Expedition Breakfast. Dave Barger, President and CEO of LunaWeb, will explore these questions and more when he speaks on the mainstreaming of social media.
To RSVP for this event, please find more information on Meetup
